Our Story

Founded in 2016 by two highly experienced innovators, Alan McCall and Idir Boudaoud, Sensoteq is the product of 50 years of combined expertise in new product development in sensing systems for the automotive industry. Together, Alan and Idir saw a unique opportunity to bring to market wireless sensing technologies suitable for application in heavy duty industrial environments.

Headquartered in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Sensoteq has attracted a world class team of technical engineers, who specialise in all aspects of software, hardware and mechanical design. Designed and built in the UK and Ireland, the result is a market leading product suite which has been tried and tested around the globe in leading-edge manufacturing sites.

Today, Sensoteq is a market leading provider of wireless condition monitoring systems. Maintaining unrivalled focus on research and development, the company continues to deliver new solutions to prevent machine failure, boasting a market reach that spans every corner of the globe. Idir Boudaoud

Chief Executive Officer

Idir has a talent for innovation and business growth, dedicating the majority of his 20+ year career to developing new products from concept to high volume launch. He has an impressive record in low power sensor design and the development of novel technologies, with his inventions leading to 8 granted patents in wireless sensing applications. Integral in the strategic development of new products at corporate level, Idir has successfully built and led multidisciplinary teams in multi-national companies, and has vast international exposure to a worldwide customer base in the automotive and industrial industries. He holds a 1st class honours degree in Electronic Engineering and a Masters in Microelectronics.

Alan McCall

Chief Technical Officer

Alan is a Chartered Engineer with more than 20 years of experience in advanced product design and development. His experience spans analogue and digital design, wireless technologies, embedded systems, firmware, data analysis, complex algorithms and applied physics. His expertise is in sensor technologies and low power wireless interface electronics. An innovator at heart, Alan's work has resulted in 8 granted patents in unique sensing applications, within industrial, medical and automotive markets. He has a proven track record of creating products from concept to high volume production, whilst developing an innovative technology roadmap. He holds BEng (Hons) in Electronic Systems from University of Ulster.

Stephen McClelland

Non-Executive Director

Stephen is the former Chief Executive Officer of Schrader Electronics, a world leader in Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems. Appointed CEO in 1997, Stephen led the Schrader business from start-up to its position as a global automotive supplier, culminating in its acquisition by Sensata Technologies for US $1 billion in 2014. Upon completion of successful integration to Sensata, Stephen left the business in 2015, dedicating his time and expertise to a number of Northern Ireland-based technology start-ups. An experienced Angel Investor, Stephen currently holds a number of Non Executive Director roles in highly innovative technology companies, joining Sensoteq in June 2017 as Chairman. In 2016, Stephen was awarded a MBE for services to the Northern Ireland economy.
