How To Connect Your Sensoteq Gateway

Optimising your gateway placement is crucial for seamless sensor connectivity. Check out our guide on the best practices to ensure your sensors communicate effectively, providing reliable data for your asset monitoring needs.

Mounting your gateway in the best possible position ensures that up to 30 Kappa or Tau sensors can provide the relevant data around the clock. In our previous video on the gateway we touched upon three steps for setting up your gateway. However, here’s some other points to consider when choosing the best position.

Firstly, you don't need to settle on one position immediately. You should consider multiple points around the site based on network reception and available power points.

The fundamental goal for the gateway is to achieve a direct 'Line of Sight' between the gateway and all connected sensors, ideally avoiding any large structures which can interfere with our communication. The easiest way to do this is to mount your gateway as high as possible and that the Sensoteq 'S' logo is facing towards the sensors.

For the antennas, we also want to be sure that our mounting position allows them to remain unobstructed, again reducing any chances of signal disruption.
